Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of COSHHmate (coshhmate.co.uk), a COSHH assessment and chemical register tool operated by Crocker Digital Ltd (Company No. 17008789).
By creating an account or using COSHHmate, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What COSHHmate is (and is not)
COSHHmate provides templates and tools to help you create and manage COSHH assessments and chemical registers. It is a guidance tool only. It does not constitute professional health and safety advice. You remain responsible for ensuring your workplace complies with all relevant health and safety legislation, including the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended).
We recommend you seek qualified professional advice if you are unsure about your obligations.
Accounts
To use COSHHmate, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring the information you provide is accurate
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Accounts are for use by the individual or organisation that created them. You must not share your credentials with others.
Free and paid plans
COSHHmate offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscription plans with additional capabilities.
Paid subscriptions
- Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via Stripe
- Prices are displayed on our website at the time of purchase and are inclusive of VAT where applicable
- You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period
- We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law
- If payment fails, we may downgrade or suspend your account after reasonable notice
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
Your data and content
You retain ownership of any data and content you enter into COSHHmate (such as substance information, assessments, and organisational details). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing COSHHmate to you.
Our intellectual property
COSHHmate, including its design, code, templates, and documentation, is owned by Crocker Digital Ltd. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute any part of the service without our written permission.
Acceptable use
You agree to use COSHHmate lawfully and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep COSHHmate available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:
- Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- Modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
- Suspend the service in exceptional circumstances
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- COSHHmate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of COSHHmate is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater
- We are not responsible for any loss, injury, regulatory action, or penalty that arises from reliance on COSHHmate output without independent professional verification
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us or using the in-app account deletion feature.
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period (we will notify you first)
- We are required to do so by law
On termination, your right to use COSHHmate ends. We retain your data for 30 days after account deletion to allow recovery, after which it is permanently deleted. See our Retention and Deletion Policy for details.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of COSHHmate after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of COSHHmate will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
